Bespoke kitchens

Bespoke kitchens in London, custom made in solid timber to fit your space. Considered design, quality finishes and hardware, and a careful fit.

Overview

Barnsbury Joinery makes bespoke kitchens in London that are built to suit the room they go into, rather than the other way around. As a London joinery studio, we manufacture each kitchen to order, so cabinets, runs and details are sized around your walls, your appliances and the way you actually use the space.

Kitchens

Custom manufactured kitchens

Custom manufactured kitchens

Our bespoke kitchens are custom manufactured from the ground up. We do not work to fixed carcass depths or standard modular widths, so there is no need to compromise around off‑the‑shelf sizes. Every cabinet, drawer bank and run is drawn and built for your particular room, which means awkward corners, sloping ceilings, chimney breasts and period reveals can be resolved properly instead of hidden behind filler panels.

Because each kitchen is made to order, the layout is planned around how you cook and store things day to day. That covers the position of the sink, hob and appliances, the balance of drawers against cupboards, and the way tall units, larders and islands sit within the room. The result is a kitchen that reads as part of the house, with consistent lines and sensible proportions throughout.

This is a supporting service alongside our core joinery work, and we approach it in the same measured way. A bespoke kitchen is a considered investment, so we would rather build something durable and well proportioned than rush a specification that does not quite fit.

Finishing

Timber, finishes and hardware

Timber, finishes and hardware

We build in solid timber and quality timber‑based boards, chosen to suit both the look you want and the demands of a working kitchen. Doors, frames and panelling can be made in a range of species and profiles, from clean and contemporary to more traditional in‑frame detailing, so the kitchen can sit comfortably in a modern flat or a period London home.

Finishes are selected to be practical as well as attractive. Painted, stained, oiled and lacquered options are available, with colours matched to your scheme where needed. We talk through how each finish wears over time, how it copes with heat, moisture and daily cleaning, and which surfaces suit the busiest parts of the room.

Hardware makes a real difference to how a kitchen feels in use. We specify hinges, runners and mechanisms from established suppliers, and select handles, knobs and pulls to match the overall design. Worktops and splashbacks can be coordinated with the cabinetry so the whole kitchen is resolved as a single piece of work.

Design

Design and fit

Design and fit

The process starts with understanding the room and how you want to use it. We can request a survey to take accurate measurements and check services, levels and existing fittings, which keeps the later stages precise and avoids surprises during installation.

From there we prepare a design and a clear specification covering layout, materials, finishes and hardware, along with a quote. You are welcome to request a quote at any point, and we aim to respond to enquiries promptly. Once the design is agreed, the kitchen is manufactured to order and then fitted by people who understand how it was built.

Installation is carried out carefully, with cabinets levelled and scribed to the walls and floors so everything lines up. We offer a full service in London and the South East, and supply only across the rest of the UK for clients arranging their own installation.
